Hi Lisa,&#xD;
Usually red skin is a common thing for chickens who have&#xD;
lost feathers and the skin is exposed to the sun so it is more or&#xD;
less like a sunburn.  If the red skin is under the feathers and&#xD;
there are no mites or lice causing an irritation then I'm really&#xD;
not sure. &#xD;

just looked in my chicken books, it doesn't seem like they would, unless it's just a general irritant and causing inflammation&#xD;
&#xD;
let me ask my chicken doctor, I'll send out an email&#xD;
but before I do let me clarify, the skin is red under the feathers, no loss of feathers or scaly patches, no behavior differences or loss of appetite? Only one rooster has the red skin and it's recent?</summary>
